Several communiteis in our region took home awards during last night's Missouri Community Betterment Conference in the state capitol.
The competition allows communities across the state to be judged by their progress on infrastructure and other projects for the past year, then awards are given based on population. Grant City has won first place in its population category, and took first place in the youth division as well. Allendale won second and Sheridan 5th place in their population category. Albany and Bethany took second place in theirs, Trenton 4th place, and Chillicothe 4th place as well. Hamilton received a certificate of merit. In the youth groups competition, Albany took second place and Trenton Second. Amber Ward of Albany won the youth leadership award and kathy morgan in Albany the adult leadership award. This is the 48th year for the Missouri Community Betterment Awards Program.
