Water System Funding

The Southern Iowa Rural Water Association gets hundreds of thousands of dollars for future projects.

The money comes from US Department of Agriculture's rural utilities service program and will help water customers in 13 counties in southwest Iowa. In all $413,000 in loans and grants will help the association with wastewater system improvements. The federal government says the money is important because water is a driver of economic growth, especially in rural communities.
