President Obama's St. Louis fundraiser tomorrow has northwest Missouri connections.
The president is holding a $25,000 per person event in the St. Louis home of Tom Carnahan. Carnahan is the head of the wind capital group, which has built wind farms across northwest Missouri. Carnahan's lost creek farm south of King City received more than 1 hundred million dollars last year in federal tax credits from the administration's recovery act. That relationship is being criticized by Missouri Republican leaders, but the Treasury Department says Carnahan's northwest Missouri property qualified for the tax breaks, and they weren't given because of political donations. The Lost Creek Project remains the largest wind farm in Missouri.
