The Mound City Board of Aldermen approve the sale of a strip of land to move the community building development forward.
A 12 foot section next to the building owned by the city will sell for $300 to the Mound City Community Center Incorporated. That group is building a front covered entrance and the land was needed for the expansion. The board has also finalized water and sewer rates, leaving the base rate unchanged and increasing the second tier rate 1.5% or about a hundred dollars a month. The board has kept the base sewer rate the same but increased about 5% for users of 5,000 gallons per month, or a dollar-ten more.
