Oct. 4, 2011ST. JOSEPH, MO | By: Wayman
St. Joseph native and former Missouri auditor Susan Montee is running for Missouri's lieutenant governor.
Montee is currently serving as the state democratic party chairwoman and filed to run yesterday. Montee says she's been trying to recruit strong candidates for her party and believes she has the best chance of winning. The current lieutenant governor is stepping down to run for governor. Montee served 4 years as state auditor before losing re-election in that race. Also running for the state's second spot is Democrat Becky Plattner, who is chair of the Missouri Conservation Commission and Republican House speaker Steven Tilley.
