With flood waters receding, Interstate 29 from Missouri into Iowa is expected to be re-opened by the end of this week.
Fifteen miles between Rock Port Missouri and Pacific Junction Iowa have been closed because of Missouri River Flooding for almost 4 months. The Iowa Department of Transportation says construction and repair work is now happening. On the Missouri side there was very little flooding or damage to I-29, but it had to be closed to divert traffic off of the interstate before reaching the flooded Iowa section. Both Transport Departments say they are working hard to get final repairs done and the interstate back open within days.
