Several town in our region are sharing more than half a million dollars for tree improvements.
The Missouri Department of Conservation has awarded more than $300,000 to several dozen Missouri communities through its tree resource improvement and maintenance grant program for 2011. The city of Maryville has been awarded $5,137 for tree removal at city parks and along public streets. The city of St. Joseph has been awarded $8,249 for tree removal and planting along city streets, and the Stanberry R-11 School District has been awarded $1,629 for tree education planting on school property.
