Blue Norther

A writer at the University of Missouri is looking for photos of damaged caused by one of the worst storms to hit Missouri.

The "Blue Norther" of November 11, 1911 plunged the state's temperatures from 80 to 10 degrees in just 10 hours and triggered tornadoes followed by sleet and blizzards. College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Media Relations specialist Randy Mertens is looking for photos to illustrate the power of the storm. Mertens says the university's atmospheric science researchers have put together an extensive collection of written accounts but they are missing photographic evidence.
