Missouri senator Roy Blunt continues pushing for an extra 500 million dollars in the federal disaster funding.
The appropriation bill is on the senate floor and blunt was the extra funding should go specifically for clean up for both Missouri River flooding and flooding after the Army Corp's blew up a south Missouri levee to relieve flooding in Illinois. Blunt says while he's usually opposed to government interventions, disaster relief for the show-me-state is different.Blunt predicts shot-term funding for flood cleanup through November with more to come once appropriation bills are passed.
