A Buchanan county native is chosen as president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
Esther George of Faucett has been with the KC Federal Reserve since 1982 and has been acting as the first vice president and chief operating officer of the bank. Yesterday's promotion puts her in charge of voting with other fed presidents across the nation on the federal open market committee, which helps decide monetary policy in the US. George issued a statement saying the financial and economic landscape is changing and she's mindful of what she calls the "Challenges Ahead". The 53 year old earned her degree in business from Missouri Western in St. Joseph and her MBA from the University of Missouri.
