20 Mile Trooper

Holiday travelers may have noticed a larger than usual number of Missouri Highway Patrol officers on the roads over the Labor Day holiday.

Troop H in northwest Missouri increased patrols on Interstate 35 and the state highways during their 20-mile trooper operations. Patrol spokesman, sergeant Sheldon Lyon says trooper issued 171 tickets and 230 warnings. Lyons says troopers were also on hand to assist holiday travelers.

Sergeant Lyons add Troop H reported 7 crashes with 6 injuries. One person was killed in a traffic accident. He adds troopers arrested 9 people for driving while intoxicated including 3 drug arrests.
