Wheeler Retiring

A long-time political and educational leader in north Missouri is announcing her retirement.

Beth Wheeler will step down as Missouri Western's director of external relations to retire the last day of next January. Wheeler has been at that position since 2001, serving on the president's cabinet and acting as a liaison between Western and state and National Government officials. She's also served as vice president for community relations at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville and even served 3 terms in the Missouri House of Representatives representing citizens in Sullivan, Putnam, Mercer, and Grundy counties from 1986 to 1992. Wheeler is a native of Jameson, north of Gallatin, and earned her bachelor's at Missouri Western. The school says they will launch a search for Wheeler's successor soon.
