Aug. 23, 2011ST. JOSEPH, MO | By: Wayman
St. Joseph Police are working another homicide case and asking for the public's house.
They say last night about 10:15 they responded to 214 South 16th in St. Joseph on a report of a home invasion where a male had been shot. Officers discovered 28 year old Brian Ulmer who was shot in the head. He was taken to Heartland Hospital and pronounced dead. Witnesses are telling police 3 suspects entered the home, all black males with one being about 6 feet tall and thin, the other two shorter and having average builds. All three reportedly fled on foot after one of them shot Ulmer multiple times. The police are asking anyone who heard anything in the area of North 16th Street last night around 10 to call them. In another case about 2 this mornings officers responded to a call of two black males with guns inside an apartment building on South 10th in St. Joseph and chased one of them into an apartment. There police say they found handguns, drugs, and 3 black males. All three were arrested on weapons and drug charges and police are now working to see if those are the suspects in Ulmer's murder or if the two case are related.
