A school in Marceline is benefiting from the state's tire fee.
Walt Disney Elementary will receive just more than $16,000 to purchase shredded tire materials for use in its playground and other projects. The school is one of 15 groups across the state to receive the grant money. It comes from the state's scrap tire surface material grants which are funded by the 50 cent per tire fee collected on tires sold in Missouri.
