Pickering Meeting

Residents of Pickering are gathering this evening to hear about the future of their post office.

The facility is one of dozens through our region on a list in which federal postal authorities are considering closing. The service says residents can rely on Internet and other options. Local towns say it would close the heart of the community.

Postal officials are expected to explain at this evening's meeting why Pickering is on the potential closure list and how service would be impacted. The meeting is at the Pickering Community Building. It starts at 5.
