High Enrollment

This is the first full week of classes for many regional school districts and for Maryville R2, it's one of full classes.

The number of students in Maryville public schools has risen to 34 more than last year making this year's attendance 1,367 across kindergarten through 12th grades. Maryville school superintendent Larry Linthacum says he's pleased with the extra numbers.

Linthicum adds there is money set aside to hire more staff if student numbers climb to that point, but doesn't anticipate that happening this school year.
