North Missouri farmers now have a waiver on the amount of hay they can haul.
The State Transportation Department is waving the fee for blanket oversize permits to haul wide loads of hay. This not only saves $64, but allows producers to move the hay over holidays and night, which isn't normally allowed. The severe weather we have experienced the past several months is prompting the more relaxed restrictions, trying to help farmers. The changed Missouri policy is for loads up to 12 feet four inches wide that area of legal height, length, and weight. The waiver is in effect until the last day of this year.
