Green Landfill

A St. Louis area company is exploring a partnership with the city of Maryville to turn the city owned landfill into a fuel creating site.

Pluvius LLC is an alternative energy company that could take over operations of the Maryville Transfer Station, plus capture the solid trash being brought in and convert it into a biofuel. Maryville city manager Matt LeCurf says that would continue the recent trend of Maryville going green.

It's expected Pluvius will make a decision on leasing the Maryville Transfer Station landfill within the next month or so.
