A former Chillicothe auto dealer has plead guilty to federal charges connected with buying more than 300 vehicles with phony titles and exporting them.
Patrice Robertson admits her brokerage in Chillicothe improperly bought the vehicles in a scheme that included federal wire fraud. Federal prosecutors say Robertson and two partners in Omaha and Overland Park purchased the vehicles fraudulently from at least 6 different dealerships in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Ohio then faked names on the titles to make them appear to be sold locally. Investigators say she even used the name of a dead high school classmate on several titles. Some vehicles have been traced to Germany, Canada, Japan, and other countries, also violating contract agreements with the manufacturers.
