If you enjoy the history of fashion or just history in general, the St. Joseph Museum will have a presentation, just for you.
The program is called "Civil War Women: Their fashions and lives". Manager of the Missouri Historic Costume and Textile Collection at the University of Missouri, Nicole Johnston-Blatz will speak at 2 and again at 6:30. She will show traditional dresses and other garments which women would have worn during the civil war. Blatz will also explain the day-to-day lives of women at the time and explain why that impacted their wardrobe. After the presentation the public is invited to enjoy Mary Lincoln's favorite strawberry dessert and tea. The show will be at the St. Joseph Museum Tuesday July 26 at 2 in the afternoon and 6:30 that evening.
