Sobriety Checkpoint

A recent sobriety checkpoint was conducted in Livingston County.

A total of 9 troopers from Troop H were assigned to the operation. During the 4 hour checkpoint troopers arrested only one intoxicated driver, but made 3 misdemeanor arrests. Highway Patrol also issued 2 child restraint violations, 4 seat belt violations and 1 driver's license violation. A total of 187 vehicles passed through the sobriety checkpoint. Captain Duane Robinson says "The summer holidays are a time for families to gather and celebrate. If your plans include alcohol, please designate a sober driver for safety."
