July 29, 2011ROCK PORT, MO | By: Wayman
The road work construction season continues, with 2 more slow-downs starting today and on Monday.
Today MoDOT crews will be making bridge deck repairs on a bridge on the east edge of Rockport on Highway 136. The road is being narrowed to one lane, so traffic can still go through, but flaggers will be directing drivers through that work zone. Then on Monday a 6 to 8 week project starts in Atchison county Missouri as the East Fork Hickory Creek bridge undergoes upgrades. This work will shut down a stretch of Highway 46 in Atchison county about half a mile east of Highway EE that intersection is about 5 miles east of Fairfax. The bridge improvement is part of the state's safe and sound bridge program and one of 14 bridges in Atchison county set to be replaced or repaired. Again, that closure will last for at least the next 6 weeks.
