Missouri's senators are teaming together to ask questions about the plan to close more than 3,600 post offices, more than 20 of them in our region.

Senator Claire McCaskill says a joint letter from their offices is going to federal postal officials asking for clarification.

Senator Roy Blunt says post offices matter to communities.

Both senators say they also appreciate bill paying and other staples of postal services have been replaced by technology, and that the post office has to reduce spending.
