Flood Looting

Atchison County authorities are teaming up with Missouri soldiers to protect the personal property of evacuated flood victims.

Atchison County Missouri Emergency Management says unfortunately, reports of looting abandoned property have come in. But deputy emergency management director Mark Manchester says local sheriff deputies are patrolling along with the Missouri National Guard to protect absent homeowners.

Atchison County SHeriff Dennis Martin says there are no entry through check points after dark, but homeowners can go in before sunset and remain at home through the night if they first tell the check point guards.
