Cooper Flood Threat Over

With Missouri River levels continuing to fall in many of our communities, the alert issued by he region's nuclear power plant has expired.

The Cooper Nuclear Station issued the notice of an "Unusual Event" back on June 19th when the level of the swollen river triggered the notice to the nation's nuclear regulatory commission. But levels have since fallen at least 5 feet, and no longer poses as much of a concern. The power plant has intake valves inside the river and uses the water for its systems. Normal operations continued at cooper nuclear during the event.
