Battle for Blood

2 area hospitals recently competed against each other on the amount of blood collected during a blood drive.

The drive is called Battle for Blood, a competition between Northwest Medical Center in Albany and the Harrison County COmmunity Hospital in Bethany. The battle has been going on for 3 years now and each year Albany has won the drive. Spokeswoman for Northwest Medical Center Connie Wordon says she is very proud of Albany residents for supporting the blood drive and winning again this year with 106 units of blood. Bethany finished this year with 95 units.
