A public memorial service will be held next Saturday for a long-time music instructor and director of the Bearcat Marching Band at Northwest Missouri State.
C. Ward Rounds taught at the school from 1960 through 1985 and touched thousands of students as an instructor of brass and percussion. He also founded the university's summer music camp program in 1963, which continues to this day. Rounds spent another 20 years after his retirement giving private lessons and repairing instruments for several area schools. Rounds was 90 years old. The service will be held at the Hope Lutheran Church in Maryville at 2 the afternoon of July 30th.
