Savannah Council

Savannah city leaders have identified 5 focus points they will be concentrating on to get the city out of the red.

The council admits it will be struggling to make large bond payments due in November of this year, and has already cut back on some services to residents. The five priorities Savannah is working on include paying the city debt, balancing the general fund, maintaining city services at current levels, restructuring the cemetery operations so that fund can be self-sustaining, and addressing runoff areas impacting houses, as well as the lake club and the dam on Pluckum Creek. City administrator Jill Cornett says the next 15 months will be critical, and the list of priorities will help them.
