The St. Joseph Metro Chamber will hold two ribbon cutting ceremonies for its members and then one for themselves tomorrow.
The first ribbon cutting is for the new Oats facility. Oats Incorporates is a non for profit transportation system which helps people all over Missouri get to different places they need to go. The ceremony will be held at the new facility at 1306 South 58th Street at 10:15 tomorrow morning. The next ribbon cutting will be the chamber's they will formally celebrate their name change from St. Joseph Area Chamber of Commerce to the St. Joseph Metro Chamber. The new name change reflects St. Joseph as an economic hub. The ceremony will be tomorrow at 4 at the chamber office at 3003 Frederick Avenue. The final ribbon ceremony is for the La Mesa Mexican Restaurant. La Mesa Restaurants were created from the dream of their owner Francisco Onate. With this dream he opened his first restaurant in St. Joseph in 1993. Today La Mesa serves in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. The ceremony will be at La Mesa's new location tomorrow.
