Pot Conspiracy Plea

A Mexican national pleads guilty to federal charges of helping with a major marijuana growing operation that spanned Buchanan and Clinton counties.

The US Attorney's office says 24 year old Serafin Rodriguez Gonzalez admits he helped in the ring, in which investigators say they seized 4,000 pot plants in Buchanan county and 3,000 in Clinton county last July. They also found campsites in both fields. Authorities say at the time of his arrest Gonzalez had about $3,000 in cash plus marijuana and guns. He's now in federal custody and faces up to 40 years in prison and a 2 million dollar fine following his guilty plea.
