Pony Ride Postponed

The Annual Pony Express Re-ride St. Joseph is involved with and was set to start next week is now postponed.

The Equine Herpes virus making its way through several states has prompted the postponement of the event, which has horse riders commemorating the Pony Express Rides between St. Joseph and Sacramento, California. St. Joseph visitor's Bureau Communications director Beth Conway says the national group decided it's best to wait because of the horse illness.

The national ride is now set to start August 17th in St. Joseph with riders going through Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and finally arriving in Sacramento on August 27th.
