Ongoing Flooding

It's bad news Missouri River communities in our region do not want to hear: Flooding this week and next could be just the start.

US Army Corps of Engineer's Missouri basin team leader Kevin Grode says the Montana snow melt caused the extra water in the Missouri to begin with. But he says they are waiting to see even more run-off coming into the Missouri.

Grode adds the Corps released water into the Missouri through the early spring to avoid a major release like is scheduled for next week, but it just wasn't enough to do the job.
