June 15, 2011HAMBURG, IA | By: Harris
More roads are being closed due to rising flood water.
I-29 southbound in Iowa is closed between the Missouri border to Exit 10 approximately 7 miles north of the Hamburg area. Also both exit ramps are closed between the start of I-29 and State Highway 333. Both of these closures are due to flooding, detours our in operation. The Iowa Department of Transportation has issued alternate interstate routes, for those in Missouri traveling north should take Interstate 35 north into Iowa and those in Omaha should take Instate 80. The Missouri Department of Transportation earlier today said they were going to shut down I-29 from Rockport to the Iowa line. However, they have since said the flood waters are rising slower than expected, and I-29 on the Missouri side is still open until further notice.
