Mozingo Development

The Maryville City Council takes a giant step in future development of the Mozingo Lake Recreation Area east of town.

At last night's meeting the council voted to hire the IDM group to do a $20,000 market and feasibility study. City manager Matt LeCurf says the company will try to determine if it's feasible to construct a hotel and conference center at the lake.

The consultant study should be finished sometime in early fall. The city council also approved contracts for two more spurs of the trails project in Maryville and a contract with a local artist to place sculptures around the courthouse square.
