Several of the emergency declarations the state issued for the Joplin tornado victims have now been extended to flooded northwest Missouri residents as well.
Governor Nixon has extended his executive order to cover events through September 15th. The move allows state resources to be positioned to help local agencies fighting the northwest Missouri floods. It also waives specific solid waste and air pollution regulations during clean-up, waives state fees for duplicate or replacement motor vehicle and identification documents, and suspends rules which will allow the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to waive regulations if it's in the interests of public health and safety.
