Local Sandbagging

The city of St. Joseph and the county are making a limited quantity o sand and sandbags available for use in protecting property tomorrow.

First come first serve until the supply of sand and bags are gone, this offer runs from 8 in the morning until 8 in the evening through Sunday at 6th and Atchison. These supplies are free to those residents and businesses in need. The defined areas of at-risk properties are people living on the north side of St. Joseph along waterworks road. Businesses downtown bounded by Angelique on the north, 6th Street on the east, Monterey on the south, and the River on the west. Residential properties or businesses located on the south side of St. Joseph bounded by 31 Highway on the north, Lake Avenue on the east, city limits on the south, and the River on the west. Finally resident of Buchanan county protected by levee L455. Residents must check in when first arriving at 6th and Atchison, starting tomorrow morning at 8.
