A northwest Missouri lawmaker is calling for hearings and answers to the current Missouri River Flooding.
State senator Brad Lager chairs the commerce, consumer protection, energy, and environment committee. While that state lawmaker committee doesn't have oversight of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Lager says his committee could shine light on what he calls mismanagement of the river. Lager says the Corps mission is to prevent floods, not delay them. He's calling for the state hearings later this summer or in the fall.
