June 14, 2011HAMBURG, IA | By: Wayman
Miles of Interstate 29 could be closed by this time tomorrow.
That's according to state transportation officials in both Missouri and Iowa after the levee breach yesterday that's flooding Hamburg and parts of Holt County. No closure of I-29 has happened yet, but depending on how fast the waters move through the breach will determine when I-29 is closed down. The plan is a closure of I-29 close to the interchange with highway 2 in Iowa, then south to an exit nearly 23 miles south of Rockport Missouri. Officials are also panning on closing Highway 333 in Iowa and Missouri. Again, those closures are expected sometime today or tomorrow. You can stay tuned to 90.5 and 88.9 FM to find out closure and detour information. And as always you can access real-time travel maps for road closures from our website- that's kxcv.org
