Flooding's Future

Residents along the Missouri River continue a 24 hour fight to sandbag and build levees.

A breech in Hamburg Iowa relieved pressure downstream, but new releases in South Dakota are expected to raise the Missouri again. Vicki Sjulin owns a Bar and Grill in Hamburg Iowa, which has been partially evacuated. She says flooding the next 2 and a half months will be devastating.

Parts of Interstate 29 between Iowa and Kansas City are expected to be closed to all traffic within a week, creating massive detours and slowing goods shipped by semi.
