The police chief in Rockport has a warning to all residents- stay off the levy.
Thousands of sandbags has been put around the city's water treatment plant, and the site is drawing onlookers. But emergency officials say ANY holes poked in the plastic could have devastating results. The levy around the plant is clearly visible from several parking lots next to the site. Another danger point, all rail road crossings near the Missouri River in Atchison county. Burlington northern has now removed all switches from the crossings and are positioning workers at the crossings until all scheduled trains have passed. The Sheriff's Department says all drivers should be extremely cautious when approaching a crossing and to double check both directions. The sheriff and highway patrol are also warning about the status of the Route B bridge in Atchison. The agencies say that bridge is not safe for travel now and those evacuating from Watson using Route B should use the country roads and not attempt to cross the bridge.
