The Missouri Department of Agriculture has set aside $150,000 to help farmers hit by the floods.
The Agriculture Department is overseeing the disaster relief fund, which is also being paid for by companies giving individual donations. Eligible producers can then access the assistance three ways, either for immediate need to help a family farm directly impacted by the floods or storms, grants to non-profit organizations and local governments and a major disaster grant to organizations with special needs, especially those serving a large number of producers. Applications for disaster relief through the fund can be found on the Missouri Department of Agriculture website.
