Taxes Shut Down

Nodaway County SHeriff and Maryville Public Safety officers raid a convenience store this morning and seize what the sheriff calls "A considerable amount" of evidence.

Investigators say allegations of synthetic drug sales and illegal tax operations brought them to the Finish Line gas station on Main and 7th in Maryville. Some synthetic drugs that mimic controlled substances have been banned in Missouri and more are expected to become illegal soon. Sheriff Darren White says because of the taxes and chemicals in this case, they will bring in more investigators. White says a lot of the synthetic drug substances you might expect from what he calls a "Shady Operation" were seized, along with items that could be considered drug paraphernalia and even a computer. White says at the time of the seizure, the out-of-town owner of the Maryville Finish Line convenience store has yet to be found.
