Storm Damage

Midwest corner residents are cleaning up after numerous reports of damage from the storms that rolled through our region late yesterday afternoon.

The worst of the damage was reported in Iowa where the Lenox Fire Department says homes and trailers on the west side of Town were damaged and power lines were down. A trained spotter reported a tornado touching down at a rural intersection south of Creston. In Stanton Iowa in Montgomery county the Tarkio River jumped its banks because of the heavy rainfall in just a few hours flooding nature avenue just north of Highway 34 at Stanton. One Montgomery county official also called in a report that a mini-van was moved from a gust of wind in Stanton. There were also sightings of golf-ball sized hail throughout several south west Iowa counties. South of the border in King City Missouri quarter size hail was reported. And in Watson in Atchison county Missouri 3 power poles were blown down in the wind yesterday afternoon.
