Mo-Kan Development has received $500,000 from the USDA to assist rural businesses.

The money can be used to assist small businesses with loans up to $50,000. Businesses in Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Clinton, DeKalb, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth counties with no more than 10 employees are eligible for the program. Mo-Kan Development spokesman, Jon Ecker says most small businesses are eligible. Landlords or businesses wanting to use the money for construction are not eligible. Ecker says this program will have a positive impact on the local communities. For more information you can contact Jon Ecker or Roni Mauer by calling 816-233-3144.
