Nebraska Power Security

Even though military and embassies are on high alert after the US attack slaying Osama Bin Laden, our region's nuclear facility says everything there is status quo.

Nebraska's Public Power District is taking no action yet to raise security at the coopernuclear power plant at Brownville. US Armed Force and Embassies worldwide have raised security in fear of terrorist retaliation after Bin Ladens death Sunday night. Spokesman for the plant Mark Becker says no security changes are being implemented at the cooper nuclear. Becker adds if security needs to be increased the Public Power District security personnel would then act according to their protocols, which are not being made public.
