Mound City Siren

Just one bid is received for the demolition of Mound City's old weather siren tower.

The board of Aldermen accepted it and awarded the demolition to JR Rother for $20 then they also threw in a metal ladder that was taken out of City Hall and has been lying outside for several years. The Mound City Board also thinks the siren itself is damaged and not working, so it's being donated to the Mound City Museum. The city is also moving forward on demolishing old or dangerous properties, either opening bids or contacting owners of properties at 501 State Street, 801 Savannah Street, 1012 Mill Street, and 601 Railroad Street in Mound City.
