Missouri Department of Transportation moves closer to closing northwest Missouri facilities.
This is party of MoDOT's new bolder 5 year plan. Under the plan, 135 facilities will be closed including 3 district offices. The fleet will be reduced by 740 vehicles, and nearly 1,200 jobs throughout the state will be lost. District engineer for northwest Missouri Don Wichern says in northwest Missouri, the project office in Cameron and 11 maintenance buildings will close. Wichern ads MoDOT is holding community briefings this month to hear improvement ideas from the public. The plan is expected to go into effect June 8th.
