Memorial Day Observance

Maryville honors war veterans on Monday.

The American Legion Memorial Day Observance will be at the Maryville courthouse starting at 11. During the remembrance celebration there will be the posting of the colors, national anthem, and the pledge of allegiance. Also the placement of the wreath, 2 local high school students playing taps, and legion members in Nodaway county will present the firing squad salute. A member of the American Legion Post 100, LeLand Larose says the guest speaker Dr. Bob Bohlken is a member of the community and is quiet the outstanding individual.

Larose adds a ham and bean dinner for all veterans participating will be after Monday's 11 O'clock observance.
