A local community college has been recognized in the nation's top 120 community colleges.
North Central Missouri College in Trenton was one of six community colleges in Missouri to be honored as the top college's in the country by the Aspen Institute. The college in Trenton say transfer rates, graduation, and improvements on campus are three reasons the school was recognized. Honored schools were chosen by data collected by the US Department of Education on percentage of students receiving associates degree or transferring to a four year university. All 120 colleges are now eligible to win a $700,000 prize. Kansas City's Metropolitan Community College was also one of the schools receiving recognition.
