May 31, 2011HOLT COUNTY, MO | By: Wayman
Holt County officials are in the start of putting their emergency plan into action anticipating Missouri River flooding the next few days.
The emergency management team in Holt county is urging residents around big lake to prepare for flooding again later this week or next. A mandatory evacuation order is not in effect right now. They tell us about a third of the big lake residents have moved out and the permanent residents are watching levels closely. The Missouri River in Holt county historically rises slowly so they are stressing you do have some time but your own emergency plans should be in place. We will hear from officials during newscasts later today here on KXCV and KRNW.
